Kilimanjaro Climb Via Northern Circuit 12 Days
The Kilimanjaro Northern Circuit Route is a relatively new and less-travelled trekking route that provides an opportunity to experience the scenic and less crowded northern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The route typically takes around nine days to complete and offers a challenging but rewarding trekking experience.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Moshi town for an overnight stay.
Day 2: After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Londorossi Gate for registration before beginning the trek. You will then be driven to the Lemosho Glades trailhead where you will start the trek through the lush forest zone to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite for the night.
Day 3: From Mti Mkubwa, you will trek to Shira 1 Camp, located in the heather zone. The trek will take you through the forest, crossing several streams along the way.
Day 4: Today, you will trek from Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp, located at an altitude of 3,840 meters above sea level. Along the way, you will pass through the Moorland zone, characterized by grassy plains and rocky outcrops.
Day 5: You will spend today acclimatizing at Shira 2 Camp and taking a short trek to the Shira Cathedral, a spectacular rock formation on the plateau.
Day 6: From Shira 2 Camp, you will trek to Moir Hut, located at the base of Lent Hills. The trek will take you through the Alpine Desert zone, characterized by volcanic ash and rocky terrain.
Day 7: Today, you will trek from Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp, located at an altitude of 4,020 meters above sea level. Along the way, you will cross the Northern Circuit trail and enjoy stunning views of the plains below.
Day 8: From Buffalo Camp, you will trek to Rongai Third Cave, located at an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level. The trek will take you through the heather and moorland zones.
Day 9: Today, you will trek from Rongai Third Cave to the School Hut, located at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level. This is the final ascent to the summit and you will need to prepare for the climb ahead.
Day 10: You will begin the summit climb around midnight and trek through the dark and cold night to reach the summit, Uhuru Peak, at an altitude of 5,895 meters above sea level, in time for sunrise. You will then descend to Mweka Camp for the night.
Day 11: From Mweka Camp, you will trek through the forest zone to the Mweka Gate, where you will be awarded a certificate for reaching the summit. You will then be transferred back to Moshi for an overnight stay.
Day 12: Departure from Moshi and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
